Want to pay for X benefits with a Coinepay virtual card? First check which subscription you are buying. New self-serve customers are directed to The X Subscription, while existing customers may still have a separate X Premium plan. Their tiers, checkout routes and billing settings differ. This guide walks through the current sign-up path, explains how to enter your card, and gives you a practical checklist if payment fails.

Choose the right X plan before paying

The X Subscription is the current path for new self-serve customers. Its individual tiers are Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra. A paid plan can include X benefits, but you must connect a personal X account to receive them. Organization-managed and affiliate X accounts cannot be connected for those benefits.

Separate X Premium has different tiers: Basic, Premium and Premium+. Existing subscribers can keep their current plan, price and features unless they switch or cancel. In particular, Premium under The X Subscription is not the same tier as Premium under separate X Premium. If you already subscribe, identify your current plan before selecting an upgrade.

At the time of writing (October 2026), The X Subscription lists US-dollar prices before applicable tax of $8 monthly or $80 yearly for Plus, $30 or $300 for Premium, $100 or $1,000 for Super, and $200 or $2,000 for Ultra; Free is $0. Prices and checkout options can vary by region. Check the official X Subscription pricing page and your live checkout for the amount you will actually pay. Do not use a price shown for a continuing separate X Premium plan as a quote for a new subscription.

What you need before checkout

  • A Coinepay account: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. You can manage your card in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
  • Your virtual card details: Coinepay provides a card number, expiry date and CVV. Have these ready when the checkout asks for a card.
  • Enough available funds: Allow for the full amount shown at checkout, including any applicable tax. Review your available balance before submitting payment.
  • Your real account and billing information: Enter your own accurate details and a billing address that matches the information associated with your payment method. Use X only where the relevant subscription is offered to you.
  • The right X account: For X benefits through The X Subscription, be ready to connect your personal X account. If you are managing a continuing separate X Premium subscription, check its existing billing route before making changes.

The X Subscription lists cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link as possible web-checkout options; what appears depends on your country. Choosing the card-entry option is the relevant route when you want to try your Coinepay virtual card directly. Displaying a card option does not mean a particular payment will be approved.

How to subscribe and pay with your Coinepay card

  1. Open the current pricing page. Visit x.ai/pricing and compare The X Subscription’s Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers. Select the paid plan and billing period that fit your needs.
  2. Create or sign in to your account. Follow the account prompts shown after you choose a plan. If your aim is to receive X benefits, follow the instructions to connect your personal X account. Check that it is the account on which you want those benefits.
  3. Review the checkout. Confirm the plan, billing period, total, tax if applicable, and any renewal information displayed. If the amount or available methods differ from the pricing page, use the live checkout details to decide whether to proceed.
  4. Enter your Coinepay card. Where card entry is offered, copy the card number, expiry date and CVV from your Coinepay dashboard or app. Enter your real name and billing details accurately. Check every field before submitting.
  5. Complete any payment verification. If checkout requests an additional authentication step, follow the on-screen instructions. Do not repeatedly submit the charge while a verification request is still pending.
  6. Confirm the result. Look for X’s purchase confirmation and check that the intended plan and X account are shown. Keep the receipt or invoice for your records. If you see a card charge but no active subscription, check billing status before attempting another purchase.

If you already have separate X Premium, you do not have to switch. To switch where the option is available, open your subscription settings on x.com, choose the upgrade to The X Subscription, select Plus, Premium, Super or Ultra, review the terms and complete checkout on x.com. The switch cannot be undone. An unpaid invoice or past-due payment may prevent it. Switching eligible plans ordinarily cancels the old plan and sends a prorated unused-time refund to the original payment method separately from the new charge; Apple decides refunds for Apple-billed plans, and Google Play subscribers should check whether their old renewal remains active.

What to do if your card is declined

Start with the exact message on the checkout screen, but do not treat a generic decline as proof of one cause. Messages such as “payment declined,” “Your card has been declined,” “incorrect card number” and “Your card does not support this type of purchase” have been reported by users; those reports do not establish why a particular X Subscription payment failed. Try the relevant checks below before contacting support.

Insufficient available balance

Compare your Coinepay available balance with the total shown at checkout, not just the advertised plan price. A tax-inclusive total may be higher. If the balance is insufficient, add funds through an option available in your Coinepay account, then retry once the updated balance appears. If funds appear to have been reserved after a failed attempt, check your card activity before paying again.

Card details or billing-address mismatch

Re-enter the card number, expiry and CVV directly from your Coinepay dashboard or app. Check for transposed digits or an expired card. Use your genuine billing information, and correct any difference between the address entered at checkout and the details associated with your payment method. Do not substitute an address from another country to try to pass a regional check.

Additional authentication or 3-D Secure

If an authentication prompt appears, complete it promptly through the method offered. An expired or incomplete verification can stop payment even when the card fields are correct. If a prompt never arrives, closes unexpectedly or fails repeatedly, note what happened and contact Coinepay support to check the card-side result. You can also ask X’s billing support to review the checkout attempt.

Merchant region or payment-method checks

Subscription availability, features and checkout methods can vary by market. If X does not offer the plan or card-entry option for your location, follow the options shown for your actual region or ask X support about eligibility. If a checkout says the payment method is unsupported, choose another available checkout option if you wish. Do not use a VPN, false address or someone else’s identity to bypass a restriction. Coinepay support can help check a card-side decline, but it cannot override X’s eligibility or payment decisions.

Find billing details and manage renewal

For a directly web-billed X Subscription, look under Billing & invoices → Payment details at grok.com/dashboard/billing for plan information, payment details and invoices. Cancellation is available from the current-plan options under Billing & invoices. An X-purchased or Google Play-purchased X Subscription is canceled through X or Google Play, respectively. Canceling does not reverse account unification.

For a continuing separate X Premium subscription, manage billing and cancellation on the platform where you bought it: web purchases are billed through Stripe, while iOS and Android in-app purchases use Apple and Google respectively. Separate X Premium renews automatically. X says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge; access generally continues through the paid period, and cancellation itself does not normally refund unused time. Review the terms shown for your own purchase before confirming any change.

FAQ

Is X Premium the same as The X Subscription’s Premium tier?

No. Existing separate X Premium plans use Basic, Premium and Premium+; The X Subscription uses Free, Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra.

Where should a new customer enter a Coinepay virtual card?

Start at x.ai/pricing, choose a paid X Subscription plan and select card entry if it appears at checkout. Enter the card number, expiry, CVV and your real billing details.

Why was my card declined even though I have funds?

Check the checkout total, card fields, billing address and any authentication prompt. Regional eligibility or X’s payment checks may also affect checkout; contact the relevant support team if the cause remains unclear.

Where can I cancel or update billing?

For a directly web-billed X Subscription, use Billing & invoices at grok.com/dashboard/billing. For other purchases, use the X, Apple or Google platform through which you subscribed.
