Unity Pro is the paid Editor plan aimed at studios and professional developers who have outgrown Unity Personal. Because it is an annual subscription billed in a chosen currency, it helps to have a reliable payment method ready before you reach checkout. This guide walks through what you need, how the Unity purchase flow works, and how to pay with a Coinepay virtual card, followed by a troubleshooting section for the most common decline causes.

What you need before you start

Set up these items first so checkout is not interrupted:

  • A Unity ID account and the organization that will hold the subscription. Unity attaches a paid plan to an organization, and the currency cannot be changed after purchase, so pick carefully.
  • Your correct billing details — Unity's billing guidance says the transaction billing details must match the organization's address. Use your real address, not a placeholder.
  • A funded Coinepay virtual card. After you register and complete identity verification (KYC), Coinepay issues a card with an instant card number, expiry date and CVV that you can view in the app or dashboard.
  • Enough balance to cover the plan you choose, plus any local tax that appears at checkout.

If you do not have a Coinepay account yet, you can create one here and download the app for iOS or Android. Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and KYC must be finished before you can use the card.

Unity Pro plans and pricing

Unity's Editor line-up includes Unity Personal (free), Unity Pro, Unity Enterprise and Unity Industry, plus a free Unity Student plan for eligible students. Enterprise and Industry use custom pricing.

At the time of writing (October 2026), the United States Unity Pro price observed was US$2,310 per seat per year prepaid, or US$210 per seat per month on an annual plan — both are annual commitments. Unity's published Japanese price effective January 2026 lists Unity Pro at ¥312,000 per seat before tax (¥343,200 including tax). Unity raised Pro and Enterprise prices by 5% from 12 January 2026, so existing subscribers see the new rate at their next renewal on or after that date.

Final amounts vary by currency, local taxes and rounding, and appear at checkout or in a quote. Always confirm the current figure on Unity's official plans and pricing pages before you buy, since prices change by region.

Step-by-step: subscribe to Unity Pro

  1. Open Unity's plans page and select Choose plan for Unity Pro.
  2. Configure the subscription. Set the seat count, pick the annual prepaid or annual paid-monthly option, choose your currency, and select the organization that will own the subscription. Remember: currency and organization cannot be changed later, and the subscription cannot be transferred to another organization. Brazilian-real orders are prepaid only.
  3. Accept the terms before proceeding to checkout.
  4. Enter customer details. Fill in your name and billing address exactly as they appear on your account. Keep these consistent with the organization's address.
  5. Choose a payment method. Unity's checkout offers Credit Card or PayPal. Unity's general subscription FAQ also lists Alipay, UnionPay and BoaCompra (restricted) in some cases, but whether each appears in a specific Pro checkout is not guaranteed.
  6. Enter your Coinepay card details. Open the Coinepay app or dashboard, copy the card number, expiry date and CVV, and type them into the Unity card form along with your billing address.
  7. Complete any 3-D Secure step if prompted, then confirm. After the charge succeeds, your Unity Pro seats activate under the chosen organization.
Unity does not enumerate which card networks or debit/prepaid card types its Pro checkout accepts. If you need to confirm your card meets a requirement before buying, contact Coinepay support.

Managing or updating your payment method later

Where you update the card depends on how the subscription is managed:

  • Unity Cloud: the billable owner goes to cloud.unity.com → Administration → Payment methods, adds the new card, then assigns it to the subscription.
  • Unity ID: go to id.unity.com → Organizations → your organization → Manage → Manage payment instrument → Update payment method. Note that an active subscription's payment instrument cannot simply be removed; you add a replacement instead.

To issue a fresh Coinepay card or check your balance before a renewal, use the self-service dashboard or mobile app, available 24/7.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Unity advises customers who hit a checkout error to contact their bank first, then Unity Customer Experience if the problem continues. On the Coinepay side, work through these common causes:

Insufficient balance

Unity Pro prepaid annual charges are large single transactions. Make sure your Coinepay card holds enough to cover the full amount plus any tax shown at checkout, then retry. Check your current balance in the app.

Billing address mismatch

Unity's billing guidance states the transaction details must match the organization's address. If the address, city, postal code or country on the Unity form does not match the details tied to your Coinepay card, the payment can fail the verification check. Align both and try again.

3-D Secure / verification failed

If a 3-D Secure confirmation is requested and not completed, the charge is stopped. Make sure you can receive the confirmation prompt through Coinepay and approve it promptly during checkout.

Generic checkout error

Unity shoppers have reported the message "Unfortunately, we are unable to process your transaction at this time. Please double check your billing details, try a new credit card, or contact your bank" on Asset Store purchases; it suggests re-checking billing details or the card. If this appears, verify your card data entry, confirm your balance, and if it persists contact Coinepay support and then Unity.

Region and sanctions checks

Unity's terms restrict dealings involving sanctioned countries and regions, including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk, and a full country-by-country Pro availability list is not published. Coinepay likewise does not serve residents of jurisdictions under comprehensive sanctions, and virtual-asset-related services are not available to residents of mainland China or in every jurisdiction. Use the service only where it is available to you.

Before you commit: cancellation and refunds

Online Pro subscriptions generally carry a 12-month commitment. Turning off auto-renewal ends the license at the end of the commitment period rather than immediately, and any remaining monthly payments are still owed. To stop renewal, an organization owner uses Cloud → Administration → My Products → subscription → Auto-Renewal → Cancel, or Unity ID → Organizations → subscription → Manage subscription → I want to cancel auto-renewal. Sales-purchased subscriptions require contacting your Unity client partner. Unity's terms say sales are final with no refunds except where law requires, so budget for the full term before paying.

FAQ

Which payment methods does Unity Pro checkout accept?

Unity's Pro checkout offers Credit Card or PayPal. Unity's general subscription FAQ also mentions Alipay, UnionPay and BoaCompra (restricted) in some cases, but whether each appears in a specific Pro checkout is not confirmed. You enter a card's number, expiry and CVV in the card form.

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for the annual prepaid Unity Pro plan?

You can enter your Coinepay card details at Unity's card checkout. Unity does not publish which card networks or card types its Pro checkout accepts, so make sure your card has enough balance for the full annual charge plus tax. To confirm your card meets any requirement, contact Coinepay support first.

Why was my card declined at Unity checkout?

The most common causes are insufficient balance for a large annual charge, a billing address that doesn't match your card details, an incomplete 3-D Secure step, or a region/sanctions check. Unity advises contacting your bank first, then Unity Customer Experience. Check your balance and details in the Coinepay app.

Can I change the currency or move the subscription after buying?

No. Unity says the subscription's currency cannot be changed after purchase and it cannot be transferred to another organization, so choose the correct currency and organization before you confirm.

Does Unity Pro have a commitment period?

Yes. Online Pro subscriptions generally carry a 12-month commitment. Cancelling auto-renewal ends the license at the end of that period, not immediately, and any remaining monthly payments are still owed. Sales are final except where law requires a refund.
