Together AI uses prepaid, pay-as-you-go credits for self-service access. You can enter a Coinepay virtual card at checkout, but adding it does not mean Together AI will accept it. Before funding your account, check Together AI’s card rules and confirm that your specific card meets them.

Check Together AI’s card requirements first

Together AI says it accepts bank-linked credit or debit cards and does not support prepaid cards. Its published guidance also says a virtual card may produce the message “Your card does not support this type of purchase.” Because Together AI applies these restrictions, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets Together AI’s requirements before you buy. Do not assume that having a card number, expiry date and CVV makes a card eligible for this merchant.

Together AI requires a valid card to remain on an organization’s account. If you cannot confirm that your card qualifies, ask Together AI about an eligible payment method rather than repeatedly attempting the same purchase. Together AI also offers ACH credit purchases to qualifying organizations with a verified US billing address and an eligible bank that supports instant verification. That option is not a general alternative for customers outside the US.

What you need before checkout

  • A Together AI account: Create one through Together AI’s official site using your real account and organization details. Sign-up prompts users to add a card and buy initial credit.
  • A Coinepay account and virtual card: Register with Coinepay and complete identity verification before using card services. Your card number, expiry date and CVV are available after issuance in the Coinepay dashboard or mobile app.
  • Your genuine billing details: Use the name and billing address associated with your payment details. Do not substitute an address from another country to get past a checkout check.
  • Enough available funds: Check the proposed credit purchase amount in Together AI and your available card balance in Coinepay. Allow for any applicable charges displayed to you before confirming.
  • Access to payment prompts: Keep the Coinepay app or dashboard available in case your payment requires an additional authorization step. Check the app or ask support if you need to confirm what your card supports.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Together AI’s minimum self-service credit purchase is $5, and it does not offer a current free trial. Verify the minimum and current product rates on Together AI’s official pricing and billing pages before paying.

Understand credits and Build tiers

Buying Together AI credits is not the same as paying a fixed monthly Build-tier subscription. Self-service usage draws from prepaid credits, while model and infrastructure rates depend on what you use. At the time of writing (October 2026), the official tier names are Build Tier 1 through Build Tier 5. Their respective lifetime-spend thresholds are $5, $50, $100, $250 and $1,000. Those figures are cumulative spend thresholds, not monthly plan prices or amounts you must buy in a single transaction.

Together AI also names Scale and Enterprise plans. If you need either, follow Together AI’s sales process rather than assuming the self-service Add Credits checkout covers its terms. For example, Together AI says EU-based dedicated endpoints are available only on Scale and Enterprise. Check Together AI’s official pricing page for current model and infrastructure rates; a credit balance can be consumed at different rates depending on the service selected.

How to add a card and buy Together AI credits

  1. Sign in to Together AI. If you are new, complete Together AI’s sign-up using accurate personal or organization information. You may be prompted to add a payment card and purchase initial credits during sign-up.
  2. Open billing. Select your account icon, then go to Settings → Billing. This is also where Together AI makes invoices available.
  3. Enter your card details. If Together AI offers an option to add a card, enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV, along with your real billing details. Proceed only if you have confirmed that the card meets Together AI’s bank-linked credit-or-debit requirement and other applicable checks.
  4. Choose a credit amount. In Billing’s balance panel, select Add Credits. Enter an amount that meets the displayed minimum. Review the amount and the saved default payment method before you confirm.
  5. Complete any authorization. Follow the checkout prompts, including a bank authorization or authentication prompt if one appears. An abandoned or unsuccessful prompt may leave the purchase incomplete.
  6. Check the result before trying again. Return to Billing to check your balance and invoice information. Together AI says some purchases may take up to 15 minutes to process. If a purchase is pending, do not immediately submit another one: separate attempts can become separate purchases.

A small $0, $0.01 or $1 card-verification hold may appear before the intended credit purchase. Together AI says this verification hold is automatically reversed after successful verification. Check the actual credit balance and transaction status rather than treating a small hold as proof that the full purchase succeeded.

Why was my card declined?

Start with the exact message shown by Together AI and the transaction status in Coinepay. A decline does not necessarily have one cause, and repeated attempts without changing or checking anything can complicate troubleshooting.

Unsupported card or merchant card-type restriction

“We only accept credit or debit cards” points to Together AI’s card-type rule. “Your card does not support this type of purchase” can appear for an unsupported card, including a prepaid or virtual card. Together AI explicitly excludes prepaid cards and requires bank-linked credit or debit cards. Contact Coinepay support to confirm whether your specific card meets this requirement before another attempt; if it does not, use a payment method Together AI accepts.

Insufficient balance, inactive card or a payment limit

Compare the checkout amount with your available card balance, and check whether the card is active and its expiry date was entered correctly. A limit or issuer-side block can also prevent authorization. Review any information available in the Coinepay app or dashboard, then ask support to investigate a decline you cannot explain. Do not infer from a verification hold that the full credit purchase was funded.

Billing address or security-code mismatch

Recheck the CVV and enter your real billing name and address consistently with your payment details. A typo can cause a decline. Do not use a borrowed address, change your country to bypass a merchant check, or repeatedly guess at billing fields.

Authentication, recurring payments or authorization

If checkout presents a 3-D Secure or other authentication prompt, follow the instructions shown and check whether the authorization completed. Together AI also lists lack of recurring-payment support and an unapproved bank authorization among possible decline causes. If no prompt appears or it fails, ask Coinepay support what happened to that specific transaction; Together AI support can clarify what its checkout recorded.

Merchant region checks

Payment eligibility can depend on the merchant’s checks and your genuine billing information. There is no confirmed country-by-country list of cards that will complete Together AI checkout. If a regional check blocks payment, ask Together AI whether your location and payment method are eligible. Do not try to work around the restriction by changing your location details.

Manage future purchases and auto-recharge

Billing lets you view your balance, buy more credits and review invoices. Together AI also offers auto-recharge in Billing. It requires a card as the default payment method; setting ACH as the default turns auto-recharge off. If you do not want automatic credit purchases, check that auto-recharge is disabled rather than merely leaving a low balance.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Together AI says purchased prepaid credits do not expire. Its terms generally describe paid fees as non-refundable unless the terms or an order form provide otherwise, so do not buy more credits than you intend to use without reviewing the current terms. Together AI says you cannot remove every saved card while keeping the account. Its account-deletion controls are under Settings → Profile → Privacy and Security; ask Together AI about your account obligations before taking that step.

FAQ

Can I pay Together AI with any Coinepay virtual card?

Do not assume so. Together AI requires bank-linked credit or debit cards, excludes prepaid cards, and warns that some virtual cards may be rejected. Contact Coinepay support to confirm your specific card meets its requirements before buying.

Where do I buy Together AI credits?

In Together AI, open your account icon, then Settings → Billing. Select Add Credits in the balance panel, enter an amount meeting the displayed minimum, and confirm with the saved default payment method.

Are Build Tier 1–5 monthly subscriptions?

No. They are Together AI self-service tiers based on lifetime-spend thresholds, not monthly plan prices. Self-service usage draws from purchased, pay-as-you-go credits.

Should I retry if my Together AI credit purchase is pending?

Not immediately. Together AI says processing can take up to 15 minutes, and separate attempts can result in separate purchases. Check Billing and the transaction status first.

What if Together AI says my card does not support this type of purchase?

Together AI identifies unsupported cards, including some prepaid or virtual cards, as a possible cause. Ask Coinepay support to check your specific card against the merchant’s requirements, or use another eligible payment method.
