Amazon DSP is Amazon's demand-side platform for programmatic advertising. If you run display, video or audio campaigns through it, you need a clean billing setup before anything goes live. This guide walks through what you need, how account creation and billing configuration work, and how a Coinepay virtual card fits into the picture, with a troubleshooting section for the most common card-declined causes.

One thing to know up front: Amazon has been folding DSP's programmatic capabilities into DVA+ advanced settings in Amazon Ads Agent, and existing campaigns and logins carry over. The billing steps below apply whether you see the classic DSP console or the newer Agent experience.

What you need before you start

Have the following ready so account setup and billing go smoothly:

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to add a card anywhere. Card services require this.
  • A Coinepay virtual card. Once issued, you get the card number, expiry date and CVV instantly in the iOS app or Android app.
  • Your real business details. Legal business name, billing address and tax details must match your records. Amazon DSP is a business advertising product and expects accurate business information.
  • An Amazon Ads login and, for managed-service, contact with an Amazon Ads account executive.

Important: how Amazon DSP actually bills

Amazon DSP offers two engagement options rather than named monthly subscription tiers: self-service and managed-service. Self-service has no management fee, but ad spend and other applicable fees are still payable; managed-service typically carries a US$50,000 minimum spend in the US (checked October 21, 2026) — that is a spend minimum, not a subscription price. Minimums in other countries may vary and were unconfirmed at the time of writing, so check the official Amazon Ads site for your market.

Charges are built from media cost plus applicable fees, including an entity-level technology fee disclosed at campaign setup and, where used, a percentage-based managed-services fee. DSP is invoiced monthly in arrears, generally payable within 30 days or the later invoice due date.

The DSP agreement specifies payment by wire transfer unless Amazon expressly agrees in writing to another method. Whether Amazon accepts credit or debit cards for DSP invoices — and which card networks or types — is not something we can confirm. Do not assume a card will be accepted for DSP. Announcements about cards for Amazon sponsored ads are a separate product and should not be treated as DSP card rules.

In practical terms: if your DSP account is set to invoice by wire transfer, your Coinepay card will not be the instrument that settles those invoices. A card may be relevant only if Amazon has agreed in writing to card payment for your account, or if you also run sponsored-ads campaigns that accept cards. Before you rely on a card for any Amazon advertising charge, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the merchant's requirement, and confirm with Amazon which payment method your account uses.

Step-by-step: create your account and configure billing

  1. Register for advertising. Sign in to Amazon Ads, or contact an Amazon Ads account executive if you want managed-service.
  2. Create the advertiser account. In Access and Settings or the DSP campaign manager, choose "Create advertiser account" and enter your business details.
  3. Select your region and country. A global account does not make every country interchangeable — you pick a region, then a country, for your campaigns. Note that inventory and features vary by market. As of September 25, 2026, Amazon added self-service DSP campaign creation in Belgium, Poland, Singapore, Egypt and South Africa, alongside existing locales.
  4. Set the invoice recipient and billing details. At account setup you choose the invoice recipient, billing details and payment method. Enter your real business billing address exactly as it appears on your records.
  5. Add a payment method where offered. If your account flow offers a card field and Amazon permits card payment for your account, enter the Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV exactly as shown in the app, with the matching cardholder name and billing address. If the flow only offers wire transfer, follow the wire instructions Amazon provides.
  6. Review and save. Confirm the invoice entity shown at setup — the updated Amazon DSP Agreement that took effect October 12, 2026 includes changes to which Amazon affiliate may invoice fees, so double-check the party you are contracting with.

Where to manage billing later

Go to Administration → Billing to find your DSP invoices and billing settings, including consolidated invoices where they apply. This is also where you confirm the payment method on file and review charges before they are due.

Troubleshooting: common card-declined causes

If you are at a step where a card is accepted and it gets declined, work through these in order. Many declines are configuration issues, not a problem with the card itself.

Insufficient balance

Advertising authorizations and charges can be larger than you expect, especially with technology and managed-service fees on top of media cost. Open the Coinepay app and confirm the card has enough available balance to cover the full amount, then retry.

Billing address mismatch

The billing address on the Amazon form must match the address registered to your Coinepay card. A mismatched postcode or country is a frequent decline cause. Correct the address in the Amazon billing settings so it matches your Coinepay profile exactly.

3-D Secure / verification step

Some transactions trigger a 3-D Secure authentication prompt. Make sure you can receive and approve it through your Coinepay app or the contact details on your account, and complete the confirmation promptly before it times out.

Merchant region checks

Amazon validates billing details against the advertiser account's region and country. If your card details and your DSP account region do not line up, the charge can be refused. Use your genuine business billing details and the correct account region — never use false addresses or tools to disguise location, as that violates both Amazon's and Coinepay's terms.

Card not accepted for DSP

If the card is repeatedly declined and your balance and details are correct, the most likely explanation is that your DSP account is set to wire transfer rather than card. Check Administration → Billing for the payment method on file and confirm with Amazon. If you believe a card should be usable, contact Coinepay support to confirm your card meets the requirement before you try again.

Cancellation and refunds

Either party can terminate the DSP agreement at any time by giving notice. Cancelling a single insertion order does not by itself end the agreement, and any accrued unpaid fees remain due after termination. A blanket refund entitlement is not something we can confirm — the agreement makes you liable for fees you incur, including those caused by campaign-setting mistakes, and generally requires fee claims to be raised within 60 days of the charge, subject to its stated exception. Review your invoices promptly in the Billing section.

FAQ

Can I pay my Amazon DSP invoice with a Coinepay virtual card?

The Amazon DSP agreement specifies payment by wire transfer unless Amazon agrees in writing to another method, and whether DSP invoices accept cards is not something we can confirm. Check which payment method your account uses under Administration → Billing, confirm with Amazon, and contact Coinepay support to verify your card meets the requirement before relying on it.

Does Amazon DSP have monthly subscription plans?

No. Amazon DSP is offered as self-service or managed-service rather than named monthly subscription tiers. Self-service has no management fee but ad spend and applicable fees still apply; managed-service typically requires a US$50,000 minimum spend in the US (checked October 2026). Minimums vary by country — check the official Amazon Ads page for your market.

Why was my card declined when setting up Amazon advertising billing?

Common causes are insufficient available balance, a billing address that does not match your Coinepay card profile, an incomplete 3-D Secure confirmation, or a region mismatch between your card and your advertiser account. If details are correct and it still fails, your account may be set to wire transfer rather than card.

How are Amazon DSP charges calculated?

Charges combine media cost plus applicable fees, including an entity-level technology fee disclosed at campaign setup and, where used, a percentage-based managed-services fee. Fixed-CPM campaigns are also supported. DSP is invoiced monthly in arrears, generally payable within 30 days or the later invoice due date.

What do I need before adding a payment method to Amazon DSP?

A verified Coinepay account with completed KYC, an issued Coinepay virtual card (number, expiry and CVV are shown instantly in the app), your real business billing details that match your card profile, and an Amazon Ads login. For managed-service you also contact an Amazon Ads account executive.
