Rev is an AI audio and voice service for transcription, captions and subtitles, with both subscription plans and pay-per-order human services. If you want to pay for it with a dedicated virtual card, this guide walks you through what you need, how to create your Coinepay card, and how to complete Rev's checkout. It also covers the most common reasons a card is declined and how to fix them.

Before you start, remember that Rev publishes its prices and bills in US dollars (USD). An issuer may convert that charge into your local currency and add its own conversion costs, so the amount on your statement can differ slightly from the figure Rev shows.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account. You must register and complete identity verification (KYC) before you can use card services. If you don't have one yet, create your Coinepay account and finish verification first.
  • A Coinepay virtual card, created in the dashboard or the mobile app, with its card number, expiry date and CVV.
  • Enough available balance on the card to cover the Rev charge in USD plus any conversion cost your issuer applies.
  • Your real billing details — name, address and postcode/ZIP — matching the information on your Coinepay account.

Card issuance and fund services are provided by licensed partner financial institutions, and some services are not available in every jurisdiction. Rev also notes that it does not name individual card networks on its payment-methods page, so acceptance of any particular card type is not something you can assume in advance. If you want to confirm your card meets a requirement before you buy, contact Coinepay support.

Step 1: Create and fund your Coinepay virtual card

Open the Coinepay app (iOS or Google Play) or the 24/7 self-service dashboard. Create a virtual card and note the instantly generated card number, expiry date and CVV. Add enough funds to cover your chosen Rev plan or order. If you plan to pay for a specific tool regularly, you can keep a card set aside just for that subscription so the charge is easy to track.

Step 2: Register or sign in to Rev

Go to Rev's official site and create an account. Registration asks for your name, email and country, and your agreement to the terms; Rev also offers Google and Apple sign-up. Use your real identity and the country where you actually are — this should match your Coinepay billing details.

Step 3: Choose how you want to pay for Rev

Rev has two different billing paths, and they use separate cards in your account, so decide which one you need.

Subscription plans

Rev's public pricing page lists four platform tiers: Free, Essentials, Pro and Unlimited (its help center calls the top tier Enterprise/Unlimited). At the time of writing (October 2026), Free costs $0 with 45 AI transcription/caption minutes per month for one user; Essentials is USD $29.99 per seat/month on monthly billing, or $305.90 per seat billed annually (shown as $25.49/seat/month) for up to three seats; and Pro is USD $59.99 per seat/month, or $575.88 per seat billed annually (shown as $47.99/seat/month) for up to five seats. Unlimited/Enterprise uses custom, sales-quoted pricing. Prices and plan contents change, so check Rev's official pricing page before you buy.

Pay-per-order human services

Rev also sells pay-by-the-minute human work. At the time of writing (October 2026) this includes human transcription at $1.99/audio minute, human captions starting at $1.99/video minute and legal transcripts at $2.25 or $2.50/page depending on service. Taxes and selected add-ons can affect the total at checkout.

Step 4: Complete checkout with your Coinepay card

For a subscription, open name → Manage Subscription → Plan Management, pick your tier and billing cycle, and enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV. On shared accounts, only an Admin or Billing Manager can access these settings.

For a pay-per-order job, upload or select your files, choose a service, review the summary and optional add-ons, then proceed through checkout and payment. The card used for individual pay-as-you-go orders is managed separately under name → Account Settings → Payment Details — and changing it does not change the card on your subscription. If you want both to use your Coinepay card, update them in both places.

Enter the billing address exactly as it appears on your Coinepay account, paying special attention to the postcode/ZIP, then confirm the payment. If 3-D Secure is triggered, approve the prompt in your Coinepay app to finish.

Note: Rev documents a prepaid balance only for eligible pay-by-the-minute human services, not for subscriptions. PayPal is documented for pay-by-the-minute orders; the availability of Apple Pay and Google Pay for subscription charges is not confirmed. Pay your subscription with a card.

Troubleshooting: why a Rev card payment fails

Rev lists several reasons an order or payment can fail. Work through these before retrying.

CauseWhat to do
Incorrect billing details, especially the ZIP/postcodeRe-enter your billing address so it matches your Coinepay account exactly. Rev specifically calls out the ZIP code as a common cause.
Insufficient available balance or a card holdTop up your Coinepay card so it covers the USD charge plus any conversion cost, and check for pending holds in the app.
Expired cardConfirm the expiry date, or create a fresh Coinepay virtual card and enter the new details.
Issuer freeze or security blockCheck your Coinepay app for alerts, make sure the card is active, and contact Coinepay support if it stays blocked.
3-D Secure not completedApprove the verification prompt in your Coinepay app, then retry the charge.
Shared-account mismatchOn a shared account, a user attempting a payment method other than the account owner's can fail. Have the Admin or Billing Manager handle billing changes.

Specific wording of card-error messages shown to Rev customers could not be reliably verified, so judge a failure by the cause above rather than by an exact message. If the charge keeps failing even though your Coinepay card is funded and active, open the Coinepay app or contact Coinepay support to confirm your card details and check for anything on the card side.

Managing, cancelling and refunds

Invoices, plan changes and cancellation live under Manage Subscription → Plan Management. To cancel, use Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription; paid access continues to the end of the current billing cycle, after which the account returns to Free. Whether an automatic prorated refund applies to an ordinary mid-cycle cancellation is not confirmed, so don't count on one.

For pay-per-order jobs, a job cancelled before work starts receives a full refund; once work begins, self-service cancellation closes and a support-requested cancellation is not guaranteed. Purchased prepaid credits are generally nonrefundable under Rev's terms. Rev also notes that accounts created before 2026 may keep different minutes, seats or features, and that subscription accounts created after September 6, 2024 are not eligible for net-30 invoicing. Rev's terms page was marked updated October 14, 2026 — review the current terms on Rev's official site before you subscribe.

A tip for teams and businesses

If your organisation runs several subscriptions or ad accounts, Coinepay lets you issue a dedicated virtual card for each one and set custom spending limits per card. Using a separate card for Rev keeps its charges isolated and makes reconciliation simpler. You can review and manage every card from the dashboard or app at any time.

FAQ

Can I pay for a Rev subscription with a Coinepay virtual card?

Yes. Enter your Coinepay card number, expiry and CVV under name → Manage Subscription → Plan Management. Rev accepts major credit cards but does not name specific networks, and acceptance of any card type is not guaranteed, so fund the card and keep your billing details accurate. To confirm your card meets a requirement, contact Coinepay support.

Why was my Coinepay card declined at Rev checkout?

Rev lists incorrect billing details (especially the ZIP/postcode), an expired card, insufficient available balance or a card hold, an issuer freeze, and shared-account payment mismatches as common causes. Fix the matching cause, complete any 3-D Secure prompt in the Coinepay app, then retry.

Will Rev charge me in my local currency?

Rev publishes prices and bills in US dollars. Your issuer may convert the charge to your local currency and add its own costs, so your statement amount can differ slightly from the figure Rev displays. Keep enough balance to cover the USD charge plus any conversion cost.

Does the subscription card also cover pay-per-order jobs?

No. The card for individual pay-as-you-go orders is managed separately under name → Account Settings → Payment Details, and changing it does not change the card on your subscription. Update both places if you want your Coinepay card used for each.

Can I use a prepaid balance to pay for a Rev subscription?

No. Rev documents a prepaid balance only for eligible pay-by-the-minute human services, not for subscriptions. Pay your subscription with a card such as your Coinepay virtual card.
