Adobe Photoshop is sold only as a subscription, so paying for it means setting up a recurring membership and keeping a valid payment method on file. This guide walks through choosing the right Photoshop plan, paying with a Coinepay virtual card at Adobe checkout, and sorting out the most common reasons a card is declined. It covers direct purchases from Adobe; if you buy through Apple, Google or a reseller, that seller handles billing instead.

What you need before you start

  • A verified Coinepay account. Register at the Coinepay sign-up page and complete identity verification (KYC) before you try to pay. You can manage everything from the Coinepay dashboard or the mobile app on iOS and Google Play.
  • A Coinepay virtual card issued in your app, with its card number, expiry date and CVV visible.
  • Enough balance on the card to cover the first charge plus any tax. Adobe notes its US prices exclude tax, and some regions show prices including VAT or GST.
  • Your real billing details — the name and address registered to you. Use your genuine identity; do not enter false details to work around regional checks.

Choose your Photoshop plan

Adobe lists several plans that include Photoshop, and they are not interchangeable:

  • Photoshop — the standalone desktop, web and mobile subscription.
  • Photography — includes desktop Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and 1 TB of storage.
  • Firefly Pro — includes Photoshop on web and mobile, but not desktop Photoshop.
  • Creative Cloud Standard and Creative Cloud Pro — both include desktop Photoshop; Standard has only basic access to Photoshop's web and mobile apps.
  • Teams and student/teacher plans — Photoshop for teams and Creative Cloud Pro for teams are billed per licence, and student eligibility differs from individual plans.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Adobe's US pages listed the Photoshop plan at US$22.99/month on an annual contract billed monthly, with an annual-prepaid option of US$263.88/year; Photography was listed at US$19.99/month. Prices vary by country, promotion, tax and account, so always confirm the current figure on Adobe's official plans page before you buy.

Step-by-step: subscribe and pay

  1. Go to Adobe's Photoshop plans page in a browser and sign in to your Adobe account, or create one.
  2. Pick the plan and billing interval you want (for example, annual billed monthly, annual prepaid, or month-to-month) and select Buy now. Alternatively, Start free trial begins a seven-day Photoshop trial that converts to a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends.
  3. Confirm the country shown on the payment page matches where you are billed. Adobe says the currency and tax change with the country, and the country selector is hidden when PayPal is chosen.
  4. When asked for payment, choose the credit/debit card option. Enter your Coinepay virtual card number, expiry date and CVV exactly as they appear in the app.
  5. Enter the billing name and address that match your Coinepay account and identity.
  6. Review the order total, including any tax, then confirm. If your bank or card prompts for 3-D Secure, complete the verification step shown by Coinepay.

After the order goes through, you can download Photoshop and manage the subscription from your Adobe account.

Managing your payment method later

For an individual subscription bought directly from Adobe, billing lives at Adobe account → Plans and payment → Change payment → Add new or Edit. Invoices and receipts are under Orders and invoices. For an Adobe-purchased Teams plan, the contract owner updates the card in Admin Console → Account → Payment method; if you bought through a reseller, the reseller handles billing.

A note on payment-method restrictions

Adobe says credit cards work for Creative Cloud memberships in supported countries, PayPal works in some countries, and other methods vary by checkout region. Its US pricing page displays Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, UnionPay, JCB, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay icons, but Adobe does not confirm that every method is accepted for every plan, billing interval and region.

Two restrictions are worth knowing. Klarna, where offered, is only for eligible annual-prepaid individual purchases in the US, UK and Germany, and Klarna states it does not accept prepaid cards — so Klarna is not the route to use for a virtual card. SEPA Direct Debit is a bank-debit option in supported EMEA countries, not a card method. To pay with your Coinepay card, select the standard card entry fields at checkout. If you are unsure whether your card will meet a particular plan's requirements, contact Coinepay support to confirm before you buy.

Troubleshooting a declined card

Adobe's stated failed-payment checks are insufficient funds, expired or invalid details, and a payment method registered in a different country. One checkout message users have reported reads: "A transaction can fail for a variety of reasons. Double check and make sure your payment information is entered correctly." Work through the causes below.

Insufficient balance

Check your Coinepay card balance in the app and make sure it covers the plan price plus tax. Remember that an annual-prepaid plan charges the full year at once, and a free trial converts to a paid charge when it ends. Top up, then retry.

Billing address or details mismatch

Re-enter the card number, expiry and CVV carefully, and make sure the billing name and address match your Coinepay records. Small typos or an address that does not match the card are common causes of failure.

3-D Secure not completed

If a verification prompt appears and is not completed, the charge can fail. Keep your Coinepay app handy to approve the authentication, then try the payment again.

Country or region checks

Adobe flags a payment method "registered in a different country" as a failure reason. Confirm the country on the payment page matches your billing country. Adobe also cannot take orders from certain territories for VAT reasons, including the Canary Islands, Channel Islands, Faroe Islands, Helgoland, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Monaco, French Overseas Departments, and Ceuta and Melilla. Separately, Adobe products cannot be used in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea and the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, and Firefly is unavailable in Russia, Belarus and China. Do not use a VPN or false location to get around these limits.

Card cannot be updated

Adobe says payment details may not be updateable if the card is inactive, if you attempt the update on the billing date, or if a payment is more than 30 days overdue. When shown, use Retry, or Add new/Edit in payment settings. If you hold an India-issued card, recurring payments can fail when the RBI e-mandate has not been authenticated even with funds available; re-enter the card and complete your bank's authentication.

Still declined

If the card keeps failing after these checks, contact Coinepay support to confirm the card is active and suitable for this merchant, or reach the team on Telegram. For order-specific errors, Adobe's own billing help is the place to go.

Cancelling to avoid the next charge

To cancel a plan bought directly from Adobe, go to Adobe account → Plans and payment → Manage plan → Cancel your plan → Confirm cancellation. Under Adobe's US terms, cancelling within 14 days of initial purchase generally gets a full refund; after 14 days an annual plan paid monthly incurs an early-termination fee of 50% of the remaining balance, and an annual-prepaid plan is not refunded early. Terms differ by region, so review Adobe's subscription terms for your country. Purchases made through Apple, Google, Microsoft or other sellers must be cancelled through that seller.

FAQ

Which Photoshop plan actually includes the desktop app?

The standalone Photoshop plan, the Photography plan, Creative Cloud Standard and Creative Cloud Pro all include desktop Photoshop. Firefly Pro includes Photoshop only on web and mobile, not the desktop app.

Can I use a Coinepay virtual card for Adobe Photoshop?

You can enter your Coinepay card in Adobe's standard card fields at checkout. Adobe does not confirm acceptance of every card type for every plan or region, so check your balance and billing details, and contact Coinepay support if you want to confirm your card is suitable before buying.

Why was my card declined at Adobe checkout?

Adobe lists insufficient funds, expired or invalid details, and a payment method registered in a different country as common causes. Also check that 3-D Secure was completed and that your billing country matches the payment page.

Will a free trial charge my card automatically?

Yes. Adobe says the seven-day Photoshop trial converts to a paid membership unless you cancel before it ends, so make sure your Coinepay card has enough balance or cancel in time.

How much does Photoshop cost?

Prices vary by region, plan and tax. At the time of writing (October 2026) Adobe's US page listed the Photoshop plan at US$22.99/month on an annual contract billed monthly, but you should confirm the current price on Adobe's official plans page for your country.
